DAY 5 - FINAL DAY AT DOCKLANDS

The last day has arrived so quickly. After breakfast, the bags were packed and placed on the bus with our young troops moving like a well-oiled machine. We teachers are very proud of the way students have conducted themselves on this trip, being well-behaved and using impeccable manners. There have been many positive comments from venue organisers and the general public at all the places we have visited. Our students are great ambassadors for Townsville Grammar School. Our first stop today was ice skating. The Icehouse Complex was built in 2010 at cost of $16M. It features two Olympic-sized rinks, one of which has been fitted for viewing ice hockey. We arrived to see what can only be described as champions of the future, practising graceful moves on the ice. Groups were assembled for a coaching lesson by professional coaches and then skills were tested on the Bradbury ice rink (named after Australia’s first Winter Olympic gold medalist, Steven Bradbury).     In Term 4, stud
